rosenbluth.jpg Barry Rosenbluth, DVM

A 1980 graduate of Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Barry Rosenbluth is owner and chief of medical services at Pet Medical Center of Springfield. Native to the area, Dr. Rosenbluth attended Robinson High School and Virginia Tech., where he received his B.S. degree (Biology) in 1976.

During his years at Tuskegee, Dr. Rosenbluth excelled academically. He was inducted into Phi Zeta (Veterinary Honor Society) and graduated with "highest honors." Along with receiving his DVM degree from Tuskegee, Dr. Rosenbluth also earned a BS degree in animal and poultry science.

Even with his busy practice, Dr. Rosenbluth still finds time for outside activities. He enjoys playing golf, and weight lifting. Most of all, he particularly enjoys spending time with his wife, two children and their pets.

Dr. Diane Nichols graduated form the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Previously she graduated from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton with a B.S. degree in Microbiology and from Air Academy High in Colorado.

She is married to Louis Nichols and they have one son, Louis. They also share their home with one cairn terrier, Katie, and two cats, Shadow and Sonja. Their hobbies include camping, hiking, biking and skiing. Much of her time though is spent ferrying her son to soccer games, swim team, and Boy Scout activities.

Dr. Jim MacLean grew up in Springfield, graduated from West Springfield High School and worked in local veterinary hospitals as an assistant (including here at PMC). He attended Old Dominion University and transferred to Virginia Tech as a Biology major. He graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech 1994. After graduation, he worked in a small animal hospital in Waldorf for 12 years, while commuting from Northern Virginia.

He gave up battling the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, worked in Burke for 3 years and is back at The Pet Medical Center of Springfield. He has additional training in ultra sound and endoscopy and has special interest in internal medicine, cardiology and surgery. He graduated with a masters degree from Georgetown University in business management in the Spring of 2011. He lives locally with his wife, three young children, two tolerant cats and a black lab.
